ATA Insurance Fund Announces $1 Million Dividend

The Arkansas Trucking Association (ATA) Self-Insurers’ Fund has declared a $1 million dividend to 46 trucking companies that are enrolled in its workers’ compensation insurance trust.

Under Arkansas law, any excess premiums left in a self-insured group insurance fund can be distributed as dividends back to the companies with good safety performance after all injury claims are reserved or paid and subject to approval by the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission.

This dividend is wonderful news to our enrolled companies, said Shannon Newton, ATA president. This distribution brings the total amount returned to members to more than $21.5 million since 1993, with $6.8 million paid since 2010.

Year in and year out, our fund is a proven, reliable and affordable way to insure workers for their injury claims, said Newton. The fund’s goal is to be the permanent solution to our members workers’ compensation needs.
