Arkansas Road Team Takes Safety Message Across State

The Arkansas Trucking Association with Arkansas Road Team developed a safety-focused video as part of the Arkansas Share the Road program, a highway safety campaign to educate all highway users.

According to the FMCSA, the more educated drivers are about how to share the road safely, the fewer injuries and fatalities will be caused by crashes with large trucks.

The trucking industry spends more than $7 billion annually on safety training and technology, according to the American Trucking Associations, in order to prevent crashes and make sure that more American motorists arrive at their destinations safely.

The FMCSA recently released the 2014 Large Truck and Bus Crash Facts report which showed truck-involved fatal crashes fell 3.7% since last year and have dropped 23.5% since 2004.

The Arkansas Road Team Captains are doing their part to reduce crashes in the seven-minute video delivering specific safety messages for everyone on the highway, educating motorists about blind spots and other operating characteristics of large vehicles and their operating limitations to help prevent motorists’ unsafe behaviors in the vicinity of large trucks

Young drivers are a particular target audience of the Share the Road educational video, and the program will visit high schools across the state.

These are tips for drivers of all ages. It is important for parents to talk to their children about highway safety before they ever reach driving age, but this video has information that may be new to seasoned drivers as well.”

In addition to the longer video, Bespoke Media also produced short 15 second videos with single safe driving tips to distribute on social media.
